SWISS PLAY ZONES

TAK TAK TAK was created to make events easier to organize—and more memorable to experience.

Behind each zone lies a clear rationale: less work for the organizer, more engagement for the participants.

Our History

How it all began

Like many people, we’ve often been invited to events, company parties, or get-togethers with friends where, after a while, a slightly awkward situation would arise.

People were standing around having a drink, not really sure what to do next.

The conversation was starting to fizzle out, some people were looking at their phones, and the atmosphere was getting a little… stale.

We asked ourselves:

What if an event could prevent those dull moments?

The first idea

At the time, we were already working in our workshop under Schuster Design, a local studio specializing in the design and construction of custom wooden interiors and furniture.

One day, almost by chance, we made a giant Jenga set, and then a giant Mikado set.

We brought them to an event.

And something interesting happened.

People came over, watched for a few seconds… then started playing.

Before long, the participants were laughing, chatting, and coming back several times throughout the evening.

The event’s “lulls” had disappeared.

People are gathered around a booth under a white tent at an outdoor event in an urban area with historic buildings; some people are talking, and one person is standing on a wooden game.

TAK TAK TAK wasn't created to review a few games.

It was designed to provide a turnkey solution that actually works in the field:

• installation

• management

• supervision

• a seamless experience for the audience

→ an area that runs smoothly for the organizer

Sustainable games

Most TAK TAK TAK toys are made of wood, often sourced from local suppliers.

This approach is consistent with Schuster Design’s philosophy, which focuses on designing and building wood projects using sustainable materials.

Field validation

Before long, requests started coming in.

Shortly after the initial installations, we were invited to set up a play area for the National Day celebrations on August 1 at Bundesplatz in Bern, in front of the Swiss Parliament.

The event attracted several thousand visitors.

Despite the very limited space and rainy weather, the play area remained busy all evening.

Visitors would come, bring friends back with them, and the area became a natural gathering spot during the event.

That’s when we realized there was a real demand.

The Birth of TAK TAK TAK

What started as a small side project at Schuster Design has continued to grow.

More and more events were requiring similar setups:

  • community festivals

  • festivals

  • public events

  • corporate events

  • open house

So we created TAK TAK TAK, a company dedicated to creating interactive engagement zones for events.
